An attack on Syria by Israel would be taken as an assault on the entire Islamic world, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said. He warns of a “fierce response” if such an attack should occur.
These comments come as tension and violence builds amongst Israel, Lebanon and Hezbollah.
“If the Zionist regime commits another stupid move and attacks Syria, this will be considered like attacking the whole Islamic world and this regime will receive a very fierce response,” Ahmadinejad said.
Sometimes it seems like World War III is fast approaching, doesn’t it?

And we’re supposed to negotiate with that? with countries that blindly support one another because they are all part of the same “struggle”? with countries that excuse one another’s acts of war and then act indignant that the world would respond the way it has? World War III indeed because all the measures we put in place to prevent alliances failed to anticipate the de facto alliance between Islamic regimes in the Middle East that refuse to acknowledge the atrocities of their neighbors.
The Iranian leadership is certainly detestable, but their support for atrocities pales in comparison to ours. A well-known UNC professor (Schoultz) wrote a book showing how we actually give the most aid to the countries with the worst human rights records – it’s a directly proportional relationship. Countries like Turkey, Iraq (before the early 1990s), Afghanistan (up until 2001), Indonesia (which slaughtered hundreds of thousands in East Timor), and a whole host of terrible governments in central and south America.
