A major tenet of Republican conservatism is supposed to be fiscal responsibility. But just take a look at the reality from the White House’s own records:

Despite valiant efforts during the Clinton years, Reagan and the two Bushes have increased the national debt by a factor of nine since 1980.
You may not think the debt has any real effect on you, but it lowers the effectiveness of your tax dollars. Instead of being spent on things that might improve our lives (infrastructure or social program), our taxes are being spent to pay the interest on the debt. This is the real cost of government waste.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be paying taxes just to pay off the debt.

I never understood why the rest of America never understood this. Republicans are anything but fiscally responsible. Let’s just be honest here, if you are a Republican, you generally care most about keeping your own money and making more. The whole morality thing is complete BS and if the Republicans didn’t spout it all the time, no one would elect them. Seriously, how freakin often does abortion or gay marriage affect your everyday life? Never? I thought so. Yet how often do public services, environmental concerns, and even foreign policy (think oil prices) affect your life? Everyday? Yeah. Idiots. The Bush Admin. has been reported to have mocked the Christian fundamentals who support them when behind closed doors. The tax cuts Republicans give don’t help the everyday American, they help the wealthy. They raise the tax burden on the middle class, they don’t lower it. Its a farce people. And yeah they are big on the military, big deal. They are big on not paying the troops enough money and sending them out to die. And you think they honestly want to stop illegal immigration? Get real, the economic boom under Clinton was fueled by an influx of cheap labor into this country. If you are familiar with the book Brave New World, the Republicans are comfortable having Deltas as long as they can stay Alphas. Someone has to be poor if someone is to be rich.
Republicans and Democrats to a less extent have tricked a lot of Americans into thinking they are looking out for their interests. It’s the triumph of the propaganda machine.
