Hillary wins Pennsylvania

MSNBC is projecting that Hillary Clinton has defeated Barack Obama in today’s Pennsylvania primary. Now we wait to find out how big the victory is…

Update 12:20am
It looks like Hillary won by about 10%. Just enough to keep the race going, not enough to change anything. Goodnight.

The morning after
I agree with Yglesias:

All the superdelegates should just say who they’re voting for and bring this to the end. If they want to back Hillary Clinton despite Obama’s majority in elected delegates, they should say so. Or if they want Barack Obama to be the nominee, they should say so.

Right on. These folks have all they need to know to make a decision. As a voter in NC, I can tell you that I don’t give a damn if we get to vote or not. I just want the pain to stop…

11:00am
Looks like Mrs. Clinton will net 9 delegates. That leaves her 157 delegates behind. More from Marc Ambinder:

As NBC’s Chuck Todd points out tonight, Clinton’s chances of winning the nomination based on pledged delegates is effectively over tonight.

If Obama keeps his pledged delegate lead to around 150, Clinton needs to win 70% of them on May 6 — and if not, 80% of them after May 6.

Ambinder adds, “thats more than next to impossible.”

1:10pm
From Andrew Sullivan:

It’s worth recalling what this primary came to be about, because of a self-conscious decision by the Clintons to adopt the tactics and politics of the people who persecuted and hounded them in the 1990s. It was indeed in the end about smearing and labeling Obama as a far-left, atheist, elite, pansy Godless snob fraud. That was almost all it came to be about. It was the Clintons’ core message and core belief.

While I think Sullivan often goes too far in equating Obama with good and Hillary with evil, he makes an excellent point about the type of politics Hillary represents. She hasn’t been able to stake out a different enough course on the issues to challenge Obama, so she’s been relentlessly attacking his character. We should demand better from our candidates, especially when so many essential questions about our country’s future remain unanswered.

someone needs to concede and end this crap. people in this country are working 2 and 3 jobs to survive and still going to food banks while the democrats continue to blow through unfathomable amounts of money that means nothing and we’ll never see again.

    SHUT UP. JUST SHUT UP.

that’s all i have to say.

Haha, I absolutely agree Lauren. I still wonder how much their spending goes to everyday people and how much just goes to the heads of all these media groups. I mean, if the spending is used to pay normal salaries at TV stations, at sign printing companies, etc it isn’t all terrible.
