Steel yourself for the greatest blogging ever. Today. Starting now.

Gas prices at an all time high. Seriously, does this make any sense? Are we driving a lot more all of the sudden? Are the Chinese driving a lot more? Supply is increasing if you believe the reports that Saudi Arabia is bumping up production, so why are prices still rising so fast.

The upside is that high gas prices should finally force us to get serious about alternative energy.

Save the ta-tas … really? I just saw that written on a bumper sticker.

Calm down Andrew. Wes Clark has the advantage of being right.

According to TPM, McCain’s campaign is using a former “Swiftboater” to help condemn the “attack” from Wesley Clark. Obama, for his part, has repudiated the remarks.

I agree with the comments below by Ian and Josh Marshall at TPM. Saying that McCain’s military service does not enhance his qualifications for being President is not an attack on his service record. It’s wholly different from what happened to John Kerry in 2004.

Seymour Hersh says that the United States is spending a lot of money to try to wreak havoc inside of Iran. On the one hand, violence should always be avoided if possible. On the other hand, this is the kind of thing I’d rather see than full-scale invasions.

Obama further distances himself from his rabid base of support. Is this another example of what Glenn Greenwald calls the “failed move to the ‘center’”?

What an awful headline: Son stumbles on videotapes of mom having sex with dogs

I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know any more about that story.

Regarding the Clark/McCain business: I never understood why military service was ever supposed to translate into political currency. I can see how people will see it as, “Well he loved this country so much that he was willing to die for it,” and that is an admirable thing. That said, I don’t think it translates into, “This guy would be a great leader.” I think saying Clark is “swift-boating” McCain is way off the mark too, but I guess that is the spin the right has to put on it. They will gladly call the Democrats hypocrites, even if it means having to call themselves hypocrites.

Do you want a “Save the Ta-Ta’s” tankini, Chris?

    Ian,
I totally agree. And now McCain is saying that Obama’s campaign is attacking his military record. Which is simply not true.

    Sheepy,
    I want a “I love my little ta-tas” hoody…

What kind of word is “ta-ta” anyways? Who needs to be so cute? Yuck.

I would also take it a step further and comment on the current PC crap everyone does where they say, “I fully respect John McCain. He is a war hero, but…” and then commence to bash him. Why do we have to preface everything said about the man with “He is a war hero…”. Great, we get it, everyone has said, give it a rest. That kind of talk is why people seem so shocked by what Clark said, even though it was completely reasonable.

Oh, and sign me up for some “Boob lube”. W/e that is…
