I will be really impressed if the Jets make the playoffs. Pennington wasn't that bad and he knew the offense. When he was healthy the Jets offense was decent. Favre doesn't know the Jets system at all. The receivers aren't exactly top notch either. I predict an 8-8 finish. It's an excellent opportunity for him. If he can come close to extrapolating his career stats as a backup into consistent performances as a starter (something like 75% completion, 105 QB rating), I think the fans will be quite pleased. Rodgers can only gain from this. Unless he is just absolutely awful, he can be a backup again somewhere. I would say though that it's a combination of what people want to cover, and preferences they project onto their audience. "I think Favre is a good story, and I think my readers do too."
